Hello Everyone!
In October 2017 When I had more time to do the inktober daily so many of my friends on Instagram asked me if I have a list of subjects that I go through. Honestly I was choosing mostly random things and I kinda felt guilty about not being able to share anything with you guys.
For this inktober I am very excited to get my hands inky! I started to make a list of my favorite subjects and characters, and my aim was to choose the ones that I can develop and tell more stories with.
Information about the characters we all know is mostly from Wikipedia, though there are a few subjects I’ve added descriptions to to give some extra inspiration. In the end you are free to just use the subjects in the way you want. To work on different characters every day I condenced the informations about the characters to streamline things and make it easier for you and myself.
Feel free to use the #bluebirdyinktober to share your art works with me. At the end of the month I am going to choose 3 Artists to send Original Sketches, Limited edition prints, Sketchbooks and Enamel Pins to, so there’s an extra enticement to complete the challenge.
Thanks to Jake Parker for making this beautiful challenge.
Love

inktober 2019
day 1- little Elves
Can be from the story "The Elves and the Shoemaker".
day 2- Gelfling
Gelflings are slender, elvish humanoids with protracted facial structures, having three long fingers and a thumb on each hand. Female Gelflings have butterfly-like wings that can be folded to fit easily under their clothing, allowing them to safely glide down from high places, even with the added weight of a second Gelfling holding onto them.
day 3- Gnomes or Nisse
Both of these are diminutive spirits in Renaissance magic and alchemy, Nisse ( pronounced Nisser) have been living in Denmark since the world was young. In 1200AD a statue 15cms high was discovered in Norway, carved on the pedestal were the words ‘Nisse, Riktig Storrelse’ which means gnome actual height. Nisse can grow to 2ft tall but most are smaller. There are different types of Nisse, some live in the woods, others gardens, barns or houses but all Nisse are self sufficient in the ways of the old country crafts. Nisse are close to their families and may move house with them while Tomte are more connected to the place they live. Danish – Nisse English – gnome Types of Nisse https://www.nordiccharm.co.uk/?page_id=111

day 12- Mad Hatter
Hatter is fashionable, He is a wild-eyed character with a bow tie on top of a strange suit. Of course, he wears a nice large hat with a card bearing the text “In this style 10/6.” It is the price tag of the hat which is indicative of his trade. This amounts to ten shillings and six pence.
day 13- Alice (in wonderland)
Just Alice or the Mad Tea party, At the table yiu will have Alive, The Dormouse, The March Hare and Mad Hatter, Asking Alice a riddle.
day 14- A Ghost Witch
As I love this character from The Graveyard Book I'd like to suggest Liza Hempstock. She is a witch, she is definitely a ghost because as Liza explains to Bod ( Nobody, The main character) she was accused of being a witch, and then burned to death, some 500 years before. The twist is, Liza really was a witch, or so she claims. She doesn’t ever tell Bod what that means, or what kind of witch-y activities she performed, other than causing everybody who watched her burn to get the plague and die. If she was anything in life like she is as a ghost, it’s not likely she used her witch powers to hurt people on a day-to-day basis. From her actions with Bod, she seems to be a helpful, goodhearted person. it’s possible that Liza wasn’t really a witch either, but was just having fun acting like one for Bod.
day 15-stari eyes
day 16-Clown 🤡
Colorful wigs Makeup Exaggerated foot wear Colorful clothing
I am thinking about drawing a sad clown for this one
da 17-owl
day 18-different

day 20- Pinocchio
He was created as a wooden puppet but he dreams of becoming a real boy.
Pinocchio was carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a Tuscan village.
Pinocchio has short nose that becomes longer when he is under stress specially when he lies.
Often depicted with pointy hat, jacket and a pair of colored knee length pants.
day 21- The Fairy with Turquoise Hair ‘Blue Fairy’
Young fairy girl sporting blue hair who offers Pinocchio guidance and support. She's living in a house in the middle of a forest for more than a thousand years.
The Fairy agrees to adopt Pinocchio as her son, and promises to turn him into a real boy. She finally appears to Pinocchio in a dream, gives the boy a kiss, and commends him for having taken care of his ailing father and herself. Upon awakening, Pinocchio has become human, and all his copper coins have turned to gold, accompanied by a note from the Fairy professing her responsibility.
day 22-The Old Lady who Knew Magic
day 23- RIDE
day 24- Tinker Bell
Her speech consists of the sounds of a tinkling bell, which is understandable only to those familiar with the language of the fairies. Among the fairies, she is the fairy who mended pots and kettles, and for all that she is ill-tempered, spoiled, jealous, vindictive and inquisitive, she is also helpful and kind to Peter Pan
The extremes in her personality are explained in the story by the fact that a fairy's size prevents her from holding more than one feeling at a time, so when she is angry she has no counterbalancing compassion.
Like the other fairies she has "pixie dust"
At the end of the novel, when Peter flies back to find an older Wendy, it is mentioned that Tinker Bell died in the year after Wendy and her brothers left Neverland, and Peter no longer remembers her. 🙁
day 25- Peter Pan
A free-spirited and mischievous young boy who can fly and never grows up .He is the leader of the Lost Boys and takes them on incredible adventures. Peter often interacts with fairies, pirates, mermaids, Native Americans, and occasionally ordinary children from the world outside Neverland.
day 26- River ghost
day 27-pirate
Pirate costume dress up
day 28- crow
day 29- Coraline Jones and The Cat
Coraline is an 11 years old girl; snarky, courageous, adventurous, curious, and creative as they come. She is also a quick thinker; witty, intelligent, resourceful.
She is often irritated by rain, crazy grown-ups (as they all seem to be), and not being taken seriously because of her young age. She's described as being "small for her age", though not afraid to face anyone. She cooks for herself and also tells herself when to go to bed at night.
The Cat demonstrates the ability to appear and disappear on a whim, often to hide from danger or to help Coraline when she finds herself in danger. For unexplained reasons, he is able to speak in the other world.
day 30- Beast hug
Caring, loving hug. My idea is to make it huge, cozy, wild and woolly creature
DAY 31- UNICORN
